Once Upon a Time – Planning Overview

This half term we have chosen “Extreme Earth” as our class topic.

We have been learning about the Earth and locating the 7 continents.

And we know what is inside the Earth – it has 5 layers!

The children have worked collaboratively to create banks of imaginative vocabulary to describe an erupting volcano.

We have then planned and written our own Volcano poems using simile, metaphor, alliteration and even some rhyme!

Our theme for Autmun term is Once Upon a Time… After brainstorming what the children wanted to learn about, Class 1 have decided to focus on fairy tales.

Class 1 discovered a handful of beans and a note addressed from ‘J‘ asking if they would look after the beans. Over night something ginormous had grown in our classroom. It was tall, green and very magical.

Y thema yn nosbarth un yw ‘ The Owl Who is Afraid of the Dark’. Class one’s topic is the Owl Who was Afraid of the dark. They have included some Welsh.
